Lucky 5000 Get Inc'edIn and Free Press Release Distribution

Staci Kramer at PaidContent.org has a story up today about Inc. Magazine's new IncBizNet, a closed social network for the CEOs of this year's Inc. 5000 that calls itself “The Networking Community for Private Companies.” Chris Winfield at 10e20 (brilliantly) calls it Inc.'edIn because of its obvious comparison to LinkedIn . If you have a client on this year's list (CJP has a client, Didit ranked in the Inc. 500 at #137), you should encourage them to join IncBizNet not only for its networking opportunities among other companies, but because it will offer free press release distribution over its proprietary wire (which vaguely touts a national distribution) and a corporate blogging platform.

Given the high cost of Businesswire and PR newswire, the IncBizNet wire may be of value to clients that have been reluctant to distribute news nationally due to cost. IncBizNet will (presumably) market various Fast Company and Inc. magazine advertising, subscription and conference opportunities to its members, not unlike those companies that sponsor mini networks within LinkedIn and of course MySpace. Could be a smart way to drive offline revenue in an industry that could use it. Niche social networks...it's the future.
